In the 1830 he went to Paris to study with Chopin.  He also made the acquaintance of Liszt, who arranged for the publication of Bovy-Lysberg's opus 1, \u003ci\u003eLes suissesses\u003c\/i\u003e, a set of five waltzes.  He later moved back to Switzerland.
