Serkin, Rudolf. (1903–1991). Signed Photograph. Signed photograph of the Austrian-American pianist playing a recital.  Inscribed in German, "Für Wolfgang Windhausen / mit vielen guten Wünschen, / Rudolf Serkin. / Februar 1988."  6 x 4 inches (15.3 x 10.3 cm).  In fine condition.

Besides pursuing his career as a soloist, Serkin made himself a name as the accompanist of violinist Adolf Busch, whose daughter he married.  Their son was the pianist Peter Serkin.  Serkin also studied composition, including two years with Arnold Schoenberg, but little is known about any compositions of his.  

Wolfgang Windhausen (1949–2022) was a German writer, art collector and human rights activist affiliated with Amnesty International.
