Engraving of a musical genre scene by the eminent French artist of a woman playing a harpsichord—more specifically, a virginal—with no music on the stand and apparently completely absorbed with her playing.  A viol or bass leans against the keyboard instrument.  After a drawing by Palamèdes (a pseudonym?); printed by Ch. Delâtre (son of Auguste Delâtre?).  10.5 x 7.75 inches (26.5 x 19.6 cm).  In fine condition.

Flameng is usually known as a painter, but his father, Léopold Flameng (1831–1911), was a celebrated printmaker who taught his son well in the graphic arts.
