An unusual autograph signed quotation from the Bohemian conductor, Mahler's successor at the New York Philharmonic Society (1911-1923), who writes that "Sergei Rachmaninoff is a giant among the composers of our time. He belongs to the class of Debussy, Richard Strauss and Ravel." Boldly signed and inscribed and dated August 4th, 1919. 7.8 x 5.5 inches [20 x 14 cm]. A few creases, small nick to left edge and blocks of toning to verso, else in fine condition.
