Harvey was a successful commercial artist, working for Pepsodent, Philip Morris, and designing the Brillo Pad box famously reproduced by Andy Warhol for the 1964 Stable Gallery exhibition that significantly raised his profile as an artist. The present exhibition would be Harvey's last. He died of cancer of the blood the next year.
