Uncommon signed postcard photograph of the very young Italian composer and violinist, who has cleanly inscribed "in token of esteem + affection / G. Maglioni / Firenze 1908" to the lower portion of the image. A note in blue pen to verso reads "Tom's Italian friend, met at the Brussels Conservatoire." In fine condition. 3.25 x 5.25 inches (8.2 x 13.3 cm.).
A violin student of César Thomson and composition student of François-Auguste Gevaert, he formed a duo with Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and was active as a concert performer in Italy and abroad. He taught violin in Ferrara, Arezzo, Palermo and Florence and counted among his pupils Sylvano Bussotti , Piero Bellugi and Piero Farulli (Quartetto Italiano)
