Souvenir program from a performance by the great ballet dancer and choreographer, ca. 1925, with summaries of each of the evening's dances, which included music by composers such as Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saëns, Glazunov, Rubinstein, and others. The program, bound with string, includes numerous halftone photographs of Mordkin and members of his company, including a particularly striking image on the cover of Mordkin posing with a drawn bow. 16 pp. In very fine condition. 9 x 12 inches (22.9 x 30.5 cm.).
From the collection of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
