Extraordinary large format Richard de Grab photograph signed by the great Russian pianist, who has signed and inscribed "Mit herzlicher Gruss."  From the personal collection of the Czech photographer, a prominent figure of the postwar art world.  In fine condition.  15.75 x 19.75 inches (40 x 50 cm.).  

Throughout his career, postwar contemporary artist and photographer Richard de Grab produced many portraits of renowned artists and musicians whom he often befriended, including Rubinstein, Casals, Cocteau, Picasso, Miro, Prévert, Hartung, Soulage, and Poliakoff. Salvador Dali, another subject and friend to de Grab, affectionately nicknamed him "The Turtle ", with several drawings dedicated to him over the years with inscriptions reading, "Bonjor Tortue", and "Pour la Tortue".

This is the largest signed photograph of Richter we have ever encountered and almost certainly the largest we will ever see!
