Collection of four promotional photographs of the screen legend from the early and mid periods of her career, including promotional shots from the 1937 MGM films The Bride Wore Red and Mannequin, the 1952 Warner Bros. picture This Woman Is Dangerous, and the 1955 Universal picture Female on the Beach. The Bride Wore Read photograph with wear to edges and a two-inch vertical tear to lower portion (repaired with tape on verso), otherwise the group in fine condition. Each approx. 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm.).
From the collection of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
