Duemling. Mounted and fitted to rigid board, else in fine condition. 10 x 8 inches (25.4 x 20.3 cm.).
As leader of the Robert Shaw Chorale, Shaw commissioned important works from Bartok, Milhaud, Britten, Barber, Copland and others. Shaw was also known for his work with the Cleveland Orchestra and Chorus, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, and received 14 Grammy awards, four ASCAP awards for service to contemporary music, the first Guggenheim Fellowship ever awarded to a conductor, and in 1991, Kennedy Center Honors.
