[Monroe, Marilyn. (1926-1962)]. "The Seven Year Itch" - Sheet Music Owned by Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe's personal copy of the sheet music for "The Girl Upstairs," composer Alfred Newman's main theme from the 1955 Billy Wilder film The Seven Year Itch.  The sheet music has been framed with an autograph note from American radio and television personality Joe Franklin (1926–2015): "June 25, 1997 / To whom it may concern: / Marilyn Monroe never forgot the fact that she was prohibited from completing the book we started called The Mimi Story. / Among the artifacts she gave me in the mid-50s were transparencies, and her private copy of 'The Girl Upstairs' (1955), an extremely rare music sheet. / Joe Franklin."  The cover of the sheet music includes an illustration of the moment when Monroe's white dress billows upwards as she stands over a subway grate, one of the most iconic moments in 20th century American popular culture.  Framed to overall size of 34 x 18.75 inches (86.4 x 47.6 cm.).

The film, directed by George Axelrod, produced one of the most iconic images of the 20th century –  Monroe standing on a subway gate as her white dress is blown upwards by a passing train.
