Original 1966 psychedelic poster designed by Wes Wilson for a pair of October concerts featuring the Butterfield Blues Band, Jefferson Airplane, and the Grateful Dead at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. "Wes Wilson '66" along right margin.  24.5 x 11.75 (61 x 30 cm).

Wes Wilson, one of the leading designers of psychedelic posters, drew in the bright colors, bold typography, and kaleidoscopic patterns that are distinct to the genre and can be traced back to the movements of Art Nouveau, the Vienna Secession, and Surrealism.  Best known for designing posters for Bill Graham of The Fillmore in San Francisco, Wilson invented a style that is now synonymous with the peace movement, psychedelic era and the 1960s.  He is considered to be one of "The Big Five" San Francisco poster artists, along with Alton Kelley, Victor Moscoso, Rick Griffin, and Stanley Mouse.
