Rare large original ca. 1860 albumen photograph of the legendary pianist and composer, shown dressed in a luxuriant robe and ascot. Lower sleeves and hands accented in contemporary ink by the photographer, scattered light wear and spotting to edges, small loss to upper right corner else in fine condition. Print from wet collodion negative, albumen mounted to rigid backing. 8.15 x 10.5 inches (20.7 x 26.7 cm.). Reference: "Franz Liszt par l'image" (Laszlo/Matéka, 1978), 255 (identified as ca. 1860 and by the photographer K. Tört, other editions as "A. Tört").
