Original Cecil Beaton photograph of the important American soprano and actress in costume as Violetta for the 1966 Metropolitan Opera production of La Traviata.  Both Moffo and Beaton, who also served as the production's set designer, have signed to the lower margin.  Half-inch tear to left margin, mild surface creasing, pen marks to verso with slight impression show-through, else in fine condition.  8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm.).

After Anna Moffo's Met debut as Violetta in 1959, the part quickly became her signature role.  The 1966 production, part of the Met's first season at Lincoln Center, featured sets and costumes from Cecil Beaton, who had just recently won two Academy Awards for his work on the film adaptation of My Fair Lady.
