François, Samson. (1924–1970) & Argento, Ataúlfo. (1913–1958). Signed All-Ravel Program. Elusive concert program signed by the great French pianist, from an All-Ravel performance with the Orquesta Nacional in October of 1957.  François and conductor Ataúlfo Argento have signed to the inside cover, next to halftone portrait photographs.  The performance included Ma mère l'oie, Alborada del gracioso, the Concerto in G major, Rapsodie española, and the second suite from Daphne et Chloe.  12 pp.  In fine condition.  6 x 8 inches (15.2 x 20.4 cm.).

A student of Mascagni in childhood, François later studied with Cortot, Long, and Boulanger.  His extravagant lifestyle, good looks, and passionate but highly disciplined playing earned him a cult following, but he died tragically young, only two years after experiencing a heart attack on the concert stage.
