Framed photograph of the great pianist and influential pedagogue, himself a pupil of Czerny and later the primary teacher of Paderewski, Gabrilowitsch, and Schnabel among many others! Leschetizky has titled the quotation "Canzonetta Toscana" above two autograph measures from the piece, adding his signature and the date, "22 January 1912 / Vienna." Unexamined out of frame, but apparently in fine condition. Framed to 6.5 x 4.5 inches (16.5 x 11.4 cm.).
Along with Franz Liszt, Leschetizky was the most influential piano teacher of his time. His motto was "Kein Leben ohne Kunst, kein Kunst ohne Leben," which translates to "No life without art, no art without life."
