Following his Prix de Rome prize of 1912, he worked at the \u003c\/span\u003eVilla Médicis\u003cspan style=\"\"\u003e in 1913 and 1914 and after the war, opened a studio in Paris. He died tragically young of appendicitis in August, 1923 and is buried at the cemetery of \u003c\/span\u003eBoulogne-Billancourt, where his grave is adorned with one of his own works.
