Striking original ca. 1930's poster by the Dutch artist Joop Sjollema, advertising performances of Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail with the Concertgebouw Orchestra under Bruno Walter. 33.5 x 47.5 inches (120.75 x 85 cm). Linen-backed with professionally repaired tears and overpainting in margins, unobtrusive vertical and horizontal folds, overall fine. 

Walter served as first conductor (beneath long-time chief conductor Willem Mengelberg) of the Concertgebouw from 1934 to 1939. He remains acknowledged as one of the leading Mozartians of the early-to-mid 20th century, and for many he was indeed the supreme Mozartian of the entire century.
