[Jazz] [Marijuana]. "Road to Ruin" - 1934 two-sheet Movie Poster.
Rare, very large poster for the 1934 exploitation film Road to Ruin, described as the "Story of a high school girl led into a life of shame / A timely warming to parents of today" and headed with "The new jazz sensation / Adults only." The poster shows a scantily-clad girl reclining in a drug-addled daze while the Devil watches over her from above. Printed on two large sheets, which can be assembled to an overall size of 41 x 80 inches. Folded to 11 x 28 inches, with folding creases, some partial splits, and edge wear. Overall very good.
Road to Ruin is a 1934 Pre-Code, exploitation film directed by Dorothy Davenport, under the name "Mrs. Wallace Reid." The film is a sound re-make of the 1928 silent film of the same name; both versions star Helen Foster. The story follows a teenage girl who is drawn into a world of marijuana, alcohol and sexual promiscuity.
