Autograph letter from the Venezuelan-French composer, conductor, critic and singer known for his mélodies. Hamburg, n.d. ("Vendredi.") Translated from the French: "Dear friend, You see, I am absent and that's why it's impossible to hurry this up. If the issue is urgent, please inform me about it here, where I am staying for 8 more days (or 12). If it can wait, I will see you after my return." Framed together with a reproduction photograph. Toning, light creases and a small crack at the upper right; unexamined out of frame. Sight size 5 x 6.5 inches (12.7 x 16.5 cm), framed to an overall size of 17 x 13.5 inches (43 x 34 cm).
The highly original Venezuelan-born French composer was responsible for some of the most beautiful works of the period. Marcel Proust, the great writer who was Hahn's lover, wrote that "everything I have done has always been thanks to Reynaldo."
