The friar Jan van der Linden is shown standing, resting his hand on a skull on the table in front of him. The family shield of the van der Lindens is depicted at the upper left. Plate size 22.3 x 28.5 cm. Scattered foxing mostly outside of the plate, small stains to lower text margin and left margin, crease and surface breaking along the lower right plate mark, areas of restoration to upper right and lower left edges of plate, none of which affect the otherwise crisp and bright image. Archivally matted and framed to 18.5 x 21.25 inches (47 x 54 cm) overall.  

Very rare. We have found no impressions of this scarce print appearing at auction in over 30 years of records.  Corpus Rubenianum XIX 116 (copy 3); Schneevoogt 1873 183.254.
