Penned on manuscript paper, the cadenza of three measures contains an ornamented upward scale from G sharp to high D, followed by a long staccato descending passage and a further lyrical descending passage, ending on low A. Two further alternate passages of one and two measures are penned at the foot and lower right. Vieuxtemps' distinctive signature is partially visible at the upper right, but mostly obscured by the trimming of the fragment. The work is identified in pencil on the verso. Folding creases, toning and some light soiling, but overall in very good condition. 8.75 x 3.25 inches (22 x 8.5 cm).\u003cdiv style=\"\"\u003e\u003cbr style=\"\"\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv style=\"\"\u003eVieuxtemps was one of the most important musicians of the 19th century.
