Milstein, Nathan. (1903–1992). Signed Photograph .
Signed Bechert of New York photograph of the supreme Russian violinist, noted for his fine interpretations of the unaccompanied Bach sonatas and Romantic works. Milstein is shown playing his instrument, and has inscribed at the upper right "To my dearest friend Anna / Nathan / Jan. 1947." Handsomely matted; seemingly affixed to the mount below the mat, several small edge tears and chips, but a crisp image and overall otherwise in very good condition. Image size 9.5 x 7.5 inches (24.3 x 19.5 cm), matted to an overall size of 14.25 x 12.5 inches (36.2 x 32 cm).

Considered one of the greatest violinists of the twentieth century, Milstein performed well into his mid-80s and won a 1975 Grammy, a Legion of Honor medal from France, and a Kennedy Center Honor, amongst other accolades.
