Signed Bechert photograph of the supreme Russian violinist, noted for his fine interpretations of the unaccompanied Bach sonatas and Romantic works. He performed well into his mid-80s, won a 1975 Grammy, a Legion of Honor medal from France and a Kennedy Center Honor. One of the GREATS.  8 x 10 inches, signed and inscribed in 1944 in purple ink to a light area of the image, signed in white by the photographer lower right. Scattered surface impression and creases, small stain to left edge, inscription a shade light, else fine.
