Hepburn, Audrey. (1929–1993) [Beaton, Cecil. (1904–1980)]. Signed Cecil Beaton "My Fair Lady" Photograph .

Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of a magnificent Hepburn in an extravagant costume, standing within a series of nested black and white frames. Signed boldly with her name alone in black ink "Audrey Hepburn" and in very fine condition. Nicely matted and framed to approx. 11 x 14 inches.

Few photos capture Audrey Hepburn's Eliza Doolittle character so decisively as Cecil Beaton's now iconic image, shot in 1963. Hepburn's instantly recognizable black and white-bowed outfit with sweeping, feathered white hat - as worn to the races in the My Fair Lady film - is one of his most memorable creations. Undoubtedly one of the most famous images of the actress, Beaton celebrated her “purity and integrity,” and her “enormous understanding, tact and . . . willingness to learn” which he hymned throughout “Cecil Beaton’s ‘Fair Lady’ “ (1964), the published diary of his time in Hollywood designing sets and costumes for the film version of the Lerner and Loewe musical.
