An enormous volume comprising over 100 gravure photograph portraits with facsimile signatures of leading German opera singers, actors, directors, artists, and writers of the turn of the century, each with a biographical note of 1-3 pp. preceding, and each measuring 12 x 18 inches (29 x 46.5 cm). The full volume measuring 12.25 x 18.5 inches (31 x 47 cm) overall.  Interestingly, each copy of which we aware of this edition contains a unique selection of portraits, having (so we suppose) been custom selected from a catalogue or list by each customer who ordered the volume; those in this copy are listed in full below. Folio. Hardcover with decorative boards by Edward Liesen. Spine and edges lightly rubbed; structurally sound and overall in fine condition.
