The daughter of mezzosoprano Désirée Artot de Padilla and the Spanish baritone Mariana Padilla y Ramos, Lola Artôt de Padilla received her vocal training from her mother and made her debut in 1902. From 1905 to 1908, she sang at the Komische Oper Berlin, and from 1909 to 1927 was employed at the Berliner Hofopera. She was particularly admired in Germany and Scandinavia, and was active as a singing teacher after her retirement from the stage.
