The present portrait was originally issued as the frontispiece to that historic volume. Beautifully set in a hand-painted French mat with silver detailing and framed in a gilted wood frame. 11 x 8.5 inches [29 x 22 cm]; overall 16 x 13.5 inches [41 x 34 cm]. Unexamined out of frame but in apparently fine condition, with a few small chips to the frame edges.
