Schumann, Clara. (1819–1896). Lithograph Portrait. A lovely portrait of the great German pianist and composer, wife of Robert Schumann and famous muse of Johannes Brahms, described in the caption as "Clara Wieck, Chamber Virtuoso to the Austrian Court and Honorary Member of the Society of Friends of Music of the Austrian Empire." She shown as a young woman ca. 1838, having earned these titles after dazzling audiences in Vienna at age 18. Still known as Clara Wieck, she would marry Robert Schumann three years later in 1841.
