Fitzgerald, Ella. (1917–1996). Autograph Signature with Lyrics from Two of her Most Celebrated Hits.
A very special autograph signature from the First Lady of Song, with the titles of two of her most celebrated hits inscribed in her hand: "Let's get together" and "A-Tisket, A-Tasket." Both songs were performed with Chick Webb and his orchestra, 1934's "Let's get together" being the group's theme song, and "A-Tisket, A-Tasket," Fitzgerald and Al Feldman's adaptation of the old nursery rhyme, a peppy breakthrough hit in 1938. She has signed on a small album leaf, 5 x 7 inches, and another hand has dated: July 17, 1940. This is the only example we have encountered of Ella writing out lyrics from her songs in an autograph context.
