Original 1940's photograph of Duke Ellington's band in performance, signed by alto sax player Johnny Hodges and trumpeter and violinist Ray Nance. Ellington is seen from behind seated at an upright piano. Hodges is visible just over his right shoulder and has signed along the upper area of the photograph, with Nance signing on his image at the left. We have not previously seen this wonderful image.  10 x 8 inches. Mounting remnants on verso, small areas of surface loss and creasing to corners, else very good.
