Autograph postcard from the important composer to violinist Vasily Petrovich Shirinsky, a founding member of the Beethoven Quartet, to whose memory Shostakovich's Eleventh Quartet is dedicated, and his family. Moscow, January 1, 1961. Shostakovich writes: "Dear Vasya, Nina, Nina and Sasha, I am sending you my greetings for the New Year. Be always healthy and happy. Love and kisses to all of you. Yours, D. Shostakovich." In very fine condition, 10 x 14.4 cm.
