The present work was among those which remained at the Burke residence on Long Island, \"Holly Pond\", a modernist architectural masterpiece designed and furnished by Boston architect Ben Thompson. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe work is in a Japanese style and seems to depict a sort of mental landscape.  Though the work is not dissimilar from those of Minoru Onoda in the early 1960s, the work is not by him. The artwork likewise seems related to the work of Yoshida Toshio who, as here, worked with burning the surface of his works, but is again, not by him.
