Jacques-Henri Baixe (1925 - 2001) who practiced underwater diving and later became a navy doctor specializing in diving medicine. He was also an avid collector of films: he created the Cinémathèque Mondiale de la Mer (World Film Library of the Sea), produced and directed films himself, as well as television broadcasts, and founded the Festival International du Film Maritimein Toulon.
