AMQS from the composer's operatic score based on symbolist Georges Rodenbach’s phantasmagoric novel Bruges-la-morte. Composed by Korngold when he was just 23, its tremendous success heralded him as one of German opera's most promising talents. In pencil, on an album page measuring 16.5 x 11 cm. Mounting remnants on verso with some visible buckling and discoloration and a tiny hole near the top of the paper. Signed on the verso by the great conductor and Mahler protégé Bruno Walter.
