Framed print, ca. 1920, after Willy von Beckerath's color portrait. Small scratch to the lower area of Brahms's coat, else fine. Simply framed to 20 3/4" wide by 24-3/4” tall.
The artist was the son of pianist Laura von Beckerath and the Vintner, Rudolf von Beckerath who were friends of the composer. In addition to the present portrait, Willy von Beckerath made numerous other portraits of Brahms, all from life.
