Liszt thanks him kindly for the nice gift and states that he is sending with his letter two ducats for the poor people. In very fine condition.



Liszt's visits to Prague are extensively detailed in Bohumil Plevka's "Liszt a Praga" (Prague: Supraphon, 1985). It was in Prague that he and Smetana - age 16! - first met, when Liszt performed a series of six concerts in 1840.
