Milstein, Nathan. (1903–1992). Signed Photograph with Violin.

Superb image of the supreme Russian violinist, noted for his fine interpretations of the unaccompanied Bach sonatas and Romantic works. He performed well into his mid-80s, won a 1975 Grammy, a Legion of Honor medal from France and a Kennedy Center Honor. One of the GREATS, considered by many to be in a class with Heifetz. A wonderful pose, he is shown seated, with his chin resting on his hand, his violin under his arm, bow in hand. Inscribed and signed "N. Milstein." Not dated, but probably from the 1940’s or 50’s. 8 1/4 x 10 inches and in fine condition.
