With his wife, Ruth St. Denis, he founded and performed in the \"Denishawn\" company, mentoring among other famous dancers, Martha Graham.  Margarete Wallman was an important Austrian ballerina, choreographer, stage designer and director. \u003cspan style=\"\"\u003eIn 1930 she founded her own company \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci style=\"\"\u003eTänzer-Kollektiv\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan style=\"\"\u003e and staged its first production, a \"movement drama\" \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci style=\"\"\u003eOrpheus Dionysos\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan style=\"\"\u003e by \u003c\/span\u003eFelix Emmel\u003cspan class=\"noprint\" style=\"\"\u003e [de]\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"\"\u003e with Wallmann as Euridike and \u003c\/span\u003eTed Shawn\u003cspan style=\"\"\u003e as Orpheus. Shawn subsequently invited Wallmann to teach at his \u003c\/span\u003eDenishawn School of Dancing and Related Arts\u003cspan style=\"\"\u003e in Los Angeles.
