Horszowski, Miecio [Mieczyslaw]. (1892-1993). Signed Childhood Photograph. Signed portrait photograph of the prodigy pianist who performed extensively from childhood until age 99! A rare early image by Varischi Artico & Co. of Milan, boldly signed with his name alone to the image and dated 18 March, 1907 on the verso in another hand. 9 x 14 cm and in very fine condition.

In 1907, Horszowski was touring extensively throughout the capitals of Europe, during which time he played for Queen Alexandra at Buckingham Palace, as well as making his London debut at Steinway Hall (where he was reported as being eleven years of age); played for Pope Pius X at the Vatican in Rome, toured Brazil and Uruguay and made his American recital debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
