Fischer, Edwin. (1886-1960). Signed Photograph with Mozart AMQS.. Unusual autograph musical quotation, identified "W.A. Mozart," from the great Swiss pianist, the first to record Bach's Well-Tempered Klavier. Written in purple pencil, on the verso of a portrait postcard, dated 1933. A probing interpreter, Fischer wrote that "our aim should not be pure soil and sterile air in which nothing will grow."
