CDV photograph (after the original daguerreotype of circa 1850) of Clara and Robert Schumann, circa 1860. Clara seated at an upright piano, her husband standing beside, looking down at her as he rests his hand on his chin, bearing the photographer's imprint of Eulenstein, Leipzig, Germany, approx. 4 x 2.5 in. A touch of mild soiling, and very subtle "roughness" to emulsion (more easily felt than seen), otherwise in fine condition.

Signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint pen on the front cover next to his photograph by Dimitri Shostakovich and dated six months after the premiere, 15 VI 1972. Autograph signature on a small album page from the British cellist, composer and music professor, principal cello in several major London orchestras who helped to popularise the cello as a solo instrument in the early years of the 20th century by giving public concerts throughout the British Isles and making recordings; he became well known for his performances of the Elgar and Saint-Saëns cello concertos and in 1893 the French composer Gabriel Fauré dedicated his cello piece Sicilienne to Squire. 10 x 6 cm.

Original vintage silver print photograph, measuring approximately 7.25 x 9.5. The legendary conductor is pictured here holding the famous Betts Stradivarius, a pencil notation on verso explaining: "Mr. Rudolph [Wurlitzer] showing the Betts Stradivarius - just acquired by him - to Mr. Fritz Reiner and E. B. in Cincinnati..." With scattered surface marks, trimmed edges and a clipped lower right bottom corner, this photograph is in very good condition. Read More...

AMQS of the opening "once upon a time" mofit from the tone poem written in 1894–95, chronicling the misadventures and pranks of the German peasant folk hero Till Eulenspiegel. Two bars, signed above "Richard Strauss, on a small sheet (9.25 x 7.25 cm) mounted at the edges to a slighly larger card. Trimmed at the top affecting the tip of the first letter of the signature, else fine. Together with a halftone portrait card.

Signed and inscribed on the dedication page in black ink by the British composer best known for his collaborations on more than a dozen classic comic operas with librettist W. S. Gilbert: “To R. Taylor, Jr., with the kind regards and thanks of Arthur Sullivan, 1874.” Laid onto the first free endpage is an original program broadside sheet for a Sacred Harmonic Society performance of the work, conducted by Robert Taylor at The Dome Royal Pavilion, Brighton, June 21, 1894. The score in very good condition, with the ownership signature of Robert Taylor to the title head and a few of his markings in colored pencil within, with moderate to heavy foxing to signed page and throughout the score, and wear to the leather cover. A rare small-format wartime program from a 1945 UK performance by the masterful French violinist with the London Philharmonic (lead by violinist, Jean Pougnet) under the baton of the great Russian-born English conductor, Anatole Fistoulari. Boldly signed in blue ink by Thibaud, Fistoulari and by Pougnet (who signs with a clef replacing the J!). Single-sheet program has been mounted to another page, but when held to the light, one can see that Thibaud played the Saint-Saens "Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso" and the Lalo "Symphonie Espagnole." 13 x 19 cm.
