An interesting letter from the daughter of Franz Liszt who was later the wife of Richard Wagner and, after his death, the director of the Bayreuth Festival for 31 years. Autograph letter in French, addressed "Chere Monsieur" and signed “C. Wagner,” 2 pp (recto/verso) 11 x 15 cm, Bayretuh, December 31, 1899. In fine condition, apart from a small tear lower right affecting one letter in the date. In part: "My children and I are very grateful to your good wishes and reciprocate with all our heart all the best for the year about to begin." Tipped to another page along the edge, torn lower right just shy of the signature.
