Original Piccagliani photograph of the great Italian tenor at his prime in a La Scala production of "Cavalleria Rusticana," boldly signed and inscribed in blue ink and dated 1956. 18.2 x 23.5 cm, upper left corner with a small crease, otherwise in very fine condition. His numerous recordings, many with Callas, show his passionate and exhuberant style.

AMQS on an off-white 7 x 4.5 inch page. Duke pens one measure as "a souvenir of 'Morning Mist,'" signed underneath, “Sincerely, Vernon Duke 1956.” The quotation is apparently from the 1956 show "The Littlest Revue." In fine condition. A scarce musical quotation from the versatile Russian-born American composer of "April in Paris," "Autumn in New York" and many others.

Light scattered wrinkling and handling wear, otherwise fine. Boldly signed in pencil "Marcel Dupre" across the top of the front page. The program included works by Bach, Dupre, Franck, Schumann, Mozart, and Liszt, and ended with an improvisation on a submitted theme. Read More...

London: Novello & Co.. 1899. Original 8vo edition. 7 pp. Signed on the title page, "Feb. 2. / To Mrs. R.C. Burley / with kind regards / from ------> [arrow extending to the composer's name in print] Edward [in ink] Elgar [printed] !"

Composed in 1883, the "Serenade Mauresque" is one of the earliest examples of the composer's use of "Spanish" idioms.

Autograph signature in blue ink on a small card (11 x 5 cm),  "with my best wishes / Emanuel Feuermann / March 1941" from the great cellist. Together with a vintage 8 x 10 inch glossy photograph stamped 1942 on the verso and with some neat in-painting from use in publication. Due to his tragic early death from peritonitis, autographs of Emanuel Feuermann are very scarce.

Interesting original press photograph dated 11/30/38 of the great cellist and his wife, "exiled four years ago from his post as head of the cello department of the famous Berlin Hochschuler Fur Musik...swearing their allegiance to this country as they took out their first naturalization papers at the Federal Building today. Their wish to become 'real Americans' and to have their infant daugher, Monica, grow up to be 'a real American girl' was given by them as the reason for the move." 20.5 x 15 cm and in fine condition.

A probing interpreter, Fischer wrote that "our aim should not be pure soil and sterile air in which nothing will grow."
