He performed the Bruch Violin Concerto, Saint-Saens "Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso" and the Lalo "Symphonie Espagnole" among others. Both the Lalo and the Saint-Saens were composed for Sarasate and remain among the most popular works in the violin literature.

The cycle of five songs for voice and piano are all settings of humorous poems by Leon-Paul Fargue. It was completed in May of 1923, receiving its private premier at the end of that month.
