The celebrated (and unfinished) Mass in C Minor was written as a wedding gift for Constanze (Letter 4, Jan. 1783), and had its first hearing, possibly with Constanze singing, at St. Peter's Abbey, Salzburg on October 26, 1783. Kochel 427 (417a); Haberkamp I: 426. (9835)
