Autograph Quotation from "Tristan und Isolde" on her Visiting Card

Autograph quotation from the most celebrated role of the great German soprano, one of the most important 19th-century Wagnerian singers. "Nun banne das Bangen, holder Tod, sehnend verlangter Liebestod," signed and dated "Febr. 1895" on the verso of her engraved visiting card. Mounting remnants on the engraved side, else fine. Together with a vintage color printed portrait as Isolde.

In 1895 Sucher toured with the Damrosch Opera Company of North America, where she also appeared in the New York Metropolitan Opera House as Isolde. (9820)
