Two Original Cabinet Photographs and Autograph Signature
A pair of original cabinet photographs, the first a solo portrait, the second with his first wife, American soprano Lilian June Bailey (1860-1901) and an unidentified other woman. Together with an ink signature dated Sept 1932 on a small card.
In 1881, Henschel became the Boston Symphony Orchestra's first conductor. In 1884, he returned to England and was professor of singing at the Royal College of Music, London. A close friend of Brahms, he was a man of many musical talents, a great conductor, composer, and baritone.
