Broadside (210 x 270 mm.). 1 page.  Paris, 20 Place Malesherbes. Printed within wide black border, the document providing an extensive listing of family members announcing their sorrow and concluding with the injunction to "Priez pour Lui!" Horizontal fold, else fine and sold with a similarly bordered envelope addressed to the violinist Joseph Debroux (1866 - 1924), dedicatee of works by Max Bruch and others.


Shortly after he had put the finishing touches to a requiem written for his grandson, Gounod died of a stroke in Saint-Cloud, France. (9599)
