Color 27.5 x 19 inch print entitled ‘Casta Diva’, signed in the lower border in green ink, “Franco Zeffirelli—1965.” Rolled and in fine condition.Zeffirelli began his career in the theatre as assistant to Luchino Visconti and later became a friend of Maria Callas, with whom he first worked on a La Traviata in Dallas in 1958. In 1964, he created Callas' last Norma at the Paris Opera, for which the present commemorative print was designed. (9378)
